I recently retired from The University of Kansas after 38 of teaching Computer Engineering. With an additional 12 years as a student, I've racked up 50 years at KU. It has been a joy to work with friends, colleagues, students, and staff during that time. I live north of Lawrence in the countryside of Jefferson County. I have two daughters, Anne and Arielle. Anne graduated from college and is seeking her career in Chicago. Arielle graduated from KU with business degree. I've lived short stints in the Bay Area, Ann Arbor, Washington, DC, and Zurich, but have always come back to my Kansas home. It's so good to see the old names and I look forward to the stories we have to tell. For those interested, I've scanned the SMN '69 Indian (yearbook) and it is at: http://www.prairyerth.org/SMN69_Yearbook/. (A few pages are missing and I'll fix that.) |

I have enjoyed reading everyone's comments and catching up. My husband, Dave, and I live in Lenexa. We have three grown children and four grandchildren. I look forward to seeing old friends in June.

50 years? All I did was blink my eyes. After graduating with you amazing people in ’69, I spent 2 semesters at Washburn, 2 semesters at JCCC and 6 years in the Navy (I should have worked harder in college). Married Saint Sue in 1973 and came back to KC in 77. I finally graduated from Washburn in 1982. Spent almost 10 years as a radio and TV reporter (mostly) in Topeka, then 25 years as the spokesman (mostly) for adult and juvenile corrections and (a little) for SRS and the Racing and Gaming (Casinos) Commission. Retired in December 2013 and now we split our time between daughter Jenny and her family (including grandson and granddaughter) in Overland Park and son Mike and his family (including three granddaughters) in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Our schedule at this point is to be in Virginia in September 2019. I’ve fallen out of touch with so many people who were so precious during those wondrous years at North. I may be one of the only dinosaurs who isn’t on the Face Book or other social media, but please feel free to say hey if you want to reconnect or if I still owe you money for beer. Peace and love to all.

Still alive, kicking and working. Still playing with cars & motorcycles. Too stupid to retire and like what I do, so I'll just keep on doing it. Living the dream in Overland Park and go down to our little cabin at the Ozarks often. |

Can you believe it has been 40 years? I am sure there will not be many that will remember me. I was one of those that came into SMN in my senior year. I was a transplant from the Missouri side of the river. I do have fond memories of my year in choir with Mr. Young. He was a great teacher and enlightened me to my gift of singing. Since that time in high school I got married and with my husband entered the seminary for The Salvation Army. After graduation we moved around to many different church homes including Minnesota, Illinois, back to Kansas, then back to Illinois. I have three beautiful children, Jamie Curry, Shayna Stubblefield and Brandon MacLean. I have been blessed a second time after the passing of my first husband, with another loving husband and we are currently living in Kokomo, Indiana pastoring The Salvation Army church. My husband David has two children...Thom Moffitt and Christina Reeves. We are proud to have 7 1/2 (soon to be 8 in July) grandchildren. God has been good and has blessed my life. I often look back to those innocent years we spent in HS and wish I could have known then what I know now...but I guess that is what comes from experience and age. I will not be able to attend this reunion but pray God will bless you all.

What a great site- I feel badly I did not know it existed and have missed some activities of the class of '69. After graduation, I attended Northwest Nazarene University in Idaho, got my Master's from UMKC, lived and taught school in Australia for 2 1/2 years, was a missionary in the Phillippines, taught school in Washington, got married, lived and taught school in California, moved back to Overland Park in 1990. Whew- (a run-on sentence !) Taught school in Olathe for 24 years. Moved to Manhattan,(Kansas) so husband can pursue Dr degree. He now works at McPherson College in Kansas and we moved to Hutchinson 3 weeks ago. Hoping to make it to some of the activities in September !

I am trying to schedule to come to Kansas City the weekend of the reunion. Since retiring as a litigation attorney in 2012 I was appointed a district court judge by Governor Sandoval in Nevada so I am working harder than ever as my trial calendar has been both criminal and civil trials. I have missed connecting with my friends but life sure has a way of going quickly with family and work. Glad to see many of my classmates are enjoying retirement and hopefully I will join your ranks sooner than later.
