LIke Gloria Steinem, I don't mate well in captivity. But I had a relationship with Matt Kinkead after we hooked up at the 20th reunion till his death in 2003. Last year I was successfully treated for stage II breast cancer--couldn't have gone through it without my significant other, Jack Klinknett, an attorney in Lawrence, KS. I'm back in the classroom, teaching English at UMKC. Hope to attend with our old drama teacher Roma Drevets! Send Pat a MessageSend Pat a Message

I graduated from the University of Kansas in 1973, married my college sweetheart, Hank Jarrett, and we have been married for 36 years. I taught school for a couple of years and then changed my focus to Human Resources.  I have my professional certification in Human Resources and work as a Human Resources Generalist for CooperVision, the second largest contact lens manufacturer in the world. Hank is an aerospace engineer .He retired from NASA and then went back to work for them as a government contractor. We live in Virginia Beach, Virginia with our Irish Setter, and our African Grey Parrot.
I will not be attending the reunion but it is nice to know what everyone else has been doing.  I know the reunion will be fun.

I have great memories of my high school years at SMN.  Although I moved away and have been back only a few times, the KC area is still "home" to me.  I have traveled nearly every continent, with the exception of Antarctica and Australia, but still plan on visiting each soon.  My world travels have included both business and pleasure and the friendships I've made abroad and locally will always remain warm memories in my heart.  I continue to run my worldwide business.  My husband  and I enjoy my son, Joshua Sharp, his wife, Kayla, a Jacksonville Jaguars NFL cheerleader "2008 Rookie of the Year" and their daughter, Skyler, age 2.  I am Co-Founder of The Skyler Mackenzie Sharp Foundation, a not for profit organization serving families and friends of individuals with Down Syndrome. Our purpose is to provide educational opportunities and resources for families, while promoting awareness, acceptance, inclusion, and advancement for individuals with Down Syndrome.  My husband, Tony, and I love living on the east coast...The Golden Isles of Georgia...Sea Island, St. Simon's Island, Jeckyll Island, and the Port City of Brunswick.  We play golf whenever we can and love the sunny, warmer weather of living in the Southeastern US.  We wish each and every classmate of SMN Class of '69 great success today and in the future.  Thank you for your friendships over the years. I'm looking forward to seeing old friends at the reunion, so share a bit of a bio.  After graduation, I moved to Lawrence, where I stayed for 13 years and three degrees, and, best of all, met my wife Mary.  We’ve been together for over 30 years, living in Lawrence, Washington, D.C., and now in rural Johnson County.  We live an old farmhouse with a pond, barns, and the other pleasures of country life.  But we about to make a big change.  We’ve sold the house, and bought a place in Old West Lawrence.  We’re in the process of rehabbing it, and will soon be moving to Lawrence, where we plan to retire.  In terms of career, I started with KU as a transportation planner, and then joined the Federal government as a Presidential Management Intern.  That took me first (and briefly) to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, and then to NASA, where I spent a wonderful 7 years working in IT.  In order to get us back to Kansas, I worked for Sprint for a few years, until I could find a Federal job with the USDA, where I remain.  Mary is a graphics artist.  I am an avid amateur photographer, we have no kids, both love art – especially by local artists – and enjoy traveling.  In the last few years, our favorite destination has been Mexico, where what like to go to new places, rent a car or jeep, and enjoy the freedom of no plans, no schedules, and the open road.

Glad to see this set up!!  I'm currently living on an island in SW Florida, close to the water....I took early retirement from being an airline pilot (never grew up)  a few years ago, then started an aviation security consulting business that I dabble in these days (when you can get me off the beach), but it's taking too much time in international travel (spent too much time already in airplanes) No longer married or involvedit makes life simpler.

Three grown daughters and 6 grandkids..Do we all actually have grandkids????? Not sure I can make it to the reunion, but certainly glad we are reconnecting!!!  I'd love to hear from my SMN firends!!!

Joyce and I had fun last summer hearing the stories about friends at the '68 reunion and pouring over our old yearbooks (the stories from our older brother). Our class will have great stories to share too!

I currently live in northern virginia .

Hi Classmates!
Debbie thanks for the call.   So glad you and Don are living a great life, together!  Also, want to thank you and Cindy for being so kind to me during the crazy college days.  Class acts all the way!
I have a special appreciation for my SMN classmates, as I lost my Father, senior year and am forever grateful for the many acts of kindness from all my friends at North.  (Where is Kathy Liljestrand?) I've seen several locals over the years and all have become friendly, thoughtful and caring adults- way cool!
Very saddened to read about the passing of Fat Matt, aka Buffalo Chips and Steve Smith.  Talk about two life forces and terribly funny.  Matt was a good friend.  He had a lot of fun running the lights in our band.   He was a great artist.  Both are sorely missed.
I won't make this reunion, as I'm visiting my daughter and this is the only time we can meet this year.  So, I wish all of you the very best.  May you and your Families be Blessed in all ways!!!

As I live in the southwest now, this is a great way to find some friends I have lost contact with.  Thanks for creating the website:)

I won't be able to attend the reunion, but I will be in town the weekend of May 23rd for my niece's graduation from KSU.
