I regret that I will not be able to attend the 40th reunion, but I was already scheduled to work stage crew for my daughters dance recital this weekend long before I was even made aware of the reunion.

Here is what my life has been for the last 40 years.  I have been married twice, still married to my second wife of 19 years, Dena Bovee, and we have one beautiful 13 year old daughter.  I had two childern, one daughter, 27, and one son, 25, with my first wife.  Neither are married.  My oldest daughter lives in Brooklyn, NY and is a dancer and my son lives in Denver and is a photographer and manages a art gallery.

I have lived in various cities in Kansas, Oklahoma and Ohio over the last 40 years, currently living and working in Dublin, Ohio (suburb of Columbus).  I worked for 15 years as an electrician as well as working other construction jobs and worked on 2 different farms in the Manhattan, KS area in the 70's.  I am currently working as a Windows Server Systems Administrator at OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc. in Dublin, Ohio where I have been for the last 25 years.  We provide services to libraries worldwide and own the Dewey Decimal System, yes, someone actually owns it.

I have continued to play drums in many different bands over the years, currently playing with two bands, The Traveling Beatleburys (a George Harrison tribute band) and Laughing Rhino (a British Invasion era insipred band) in the Columbus, Ohio area.  The Traveling Beatleburys just finished playing at the Abbey Road on the River festival (billed as The World's Largest Beatles-Inspired Music Festival, 68 acts from around the world this year) in Louisville, KY May 21 - 25.  The picture is from that festival.  Didn't have a "Then" photo to upload.

I'm sorry that I will miss this reunion as I have never been to any of the others because I never found out about them until after they were held.  Hopefully I will be able to attend one in the future.

I wish everyone a great time this weekend and a big thank you to the orginaziers of this reunion, they have put in a lot of hard work to put this together.

First, a BIG thank you for all have worked on this celebration. I am looking forward to seeing everyone. But, based on the pictures so far, I am praying we will have name tags. I was also saddened by the loss of some sweet souls. Here's hoping we see each other in an even bigger reunion in Heaven.
When we became empty nesters, we sold our house of 30 years in OP and moved to a condo on the Plaza. We loved it but sold it after a couple of years and moved to Dallas,Texas and Athens, Georgia to be near our 5 grandchildren. We are blessed to see them grow up and be a part of their lives. We also have 2 married children in a Washington and Hawaii sooo we travel a bit.
We are blessed to have great churches in both locations where we can worship and serve others.
I am so grateful for my years at SMN and look forward to reconnecting with many of you.

I can't believe it's been 40 years!  Time flies whether you're having fun or not, I guess.  I'm looking forward to see everyone.  My brothers went to their 40th three years ago and had a great time catching up! Send Jane a MessageSend Jane a Message

Glad to see our Class of 69 getting it together.  Great website!

I now have to find the year book from 1969 and try to put faces to all the names.

Ready or not...here I come!  Looking forward to seeing everyone and remembering (or trying to remember) a lot of teenaged good times. Life in the late 60's...we were there!
Look for me!

I have been a tribal warlord in Mogodishoe for the past twenty years.  Since Obama has become President I have fled to Toronto Canada.  If everyone would send me a dollar I could purchase a fake passport and come to the reunion.  I have six wives and twelve children but I don't remember there names because they are on the high seas making friends with bigggg boats.  This is a great endeavor you are doing and hope to see you all. I graduated from the University of Kansas and spent over 35 years doing aircraft maintenance and engineering in the airline industry.  I have been based in Missouri, New York, California, Washington and Saudi Arabia, plus a few other forgetable locations.  I have had residences North of the river in Kansas City for 30 years but was not home half the time. I am married to Nora (from New York) and we have one daughter Rae who has graduated from college and works in advertising.   I am now retired unless I am doing contract work which I am finding tends to interfer with being retired. Life has been happy,  busy, adventurous, successful and good.

How can we be nearing our 50th high school reunion? However you feel about the relentless march of time, it is here. We are having fun reconnecting with many fellow students as we plan. Join us! This will be a meaningful, memorable event you won't want to miss.

This brings back lots of memories, both sad and happy.  I married my high school and college love, Bob Hites (class of 67) and we had a wonderful 16 years together, doing so many things .  Bob died in 1986.  We have a great son, Jamie, who lives in Milwaukee and married a wonderful woman, Kathy.  I have a 2 year old grandson, Benjamin Lawrence Hites, who is so much fun to be with.  Bob & I had a GM dealership in Paola, Ks with his parents and I also had a gift shop and did decorating.  We also started a civic theater.  After Bob died, I built a house and moved to Overland Park and Jamie went to SMS.  In 1990, God brought a wonderful man from Minnesota into our lives.  We met on an airplane and he passed Jamie's and my family's approval, so it was time for me to let love back into my heart.  We married in Nov. of 1990.  Since Larry is in the newspaper publishing world, we were transferred to Ohio, where we have been since 1993.  We've met great friends and gotten involved with our church.  We share our home with a little poodle named Maddie and a Persian cat named George.  We lead a very peaceful  and enjoyable life and treasure every moment we have together.  We love doing home projects and just being together.  I'm not sure we will make it to KC for the reunion since we were there in October for my Mom's 80th birthday and most trips are to Milwaukee to be with Jamie, Kathy and Ben.  I'd love to connect with any of you.  Does anyone know how to reach Hanna Kirk Newman or Suzanna Garrett?  Enjoy the weekend.
